Samsung Health is getting a major update ahead of Galaxy Watch 9 launch

Samsung has announced a comprehensive overhaul of Samsung Health, introducing AI-powered insights and a suite of new metrics designed to provide users with actionable health guidance. Key additions include Vitals, which analyzes five overnight signals (heart rate, HRV, respiration, skin temperature, and SpO2) against a personal baseline to flag meaningful changes; Heart Health Score, which combines sleep, stress, activity, and body composition into a single daily indicator; and Daily Cardio Load, which tracks cardiovascular strain and guides training intensity and recovery. The Fitness Index aggregates heart rate, VO2 max, and steps to identify strengths and weaknesses in overall fitness. The redesign reorganizes the app into five categories (Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness, Vitals) and surfaces an Energy Score on the home screen. Antioxidant Index gains trend charts, and AGEs index can auto-collect overnight data for longer-term insights. Hearing Health expands across the Galaxy ecosystem, and an AI-powered fitness assistant is rumored to be introduced alongside the Watch 9 launch. The update roll-out is slated for June 8, with a broader presence anticipated around the Galaxy Watch 9 lineup debut.
